i shook hands with a 12-year-old named quincy.

What age were you when you were counted as a publisher?
by OrphanCrow inthe wts has always included minors and adults in the same categories - publisher and baptized.. i am interested in knowing how many minors, approximately, are included in the publisher count.
and, at what age a person started publishing.
what age was the youngest publisher reported?.

Publisher at 6 years old. I remember going door to door by myself all the time. Because I was told this is the only way we could do this. That was 1960. I was 16 when I got baptised in 1970 in St. Pete FL. Still Totally ADD

It's been quite a year. Finally can move forward.
by Darkknight757 inlooking back at this journey that my wife and i took this last year has been quite life changing.
who would have ever thought that two watchtower drones would experience an awakening after child loss?
we can finally move forward since coming out to our family that we will no longer be jehovah's witnesses.

DarkKnight757 your story sounds very much like our personal story. We also lost all our friends and family. But now like you we are moving on with our lives free of the Borg. We hope one day our children will wake up but we are not holding our breath. Good to here you and your wife are doing good. You will have your good days and your bad days but that is the cost of freedom from a cult. Take care and have a great day. Still Totally ADD

- Trump is like a cult. He promised he can fix everything, he said he knows more than any general, don't trust anyone who not on his side, everything will be wonderful under his rulership and finally just trust him what do you have to lose. Being in the borg most of my life I could see what he was all about. It will not be to long from now you will see people going door to door selling "WatchTrump and AwakeTrump maz. showing us the only way to happiness. I know this sounds crazy but that is the biggest thing I see with this guy. I hope I am wrong. Still Totally ADD.

Why are JWs so sensitive to criticism?
by Half banana ini remember a roman catholic priest acknowledging on the bbc that the outrageously anti-clerical tv comedy father ted was a humorous mocking of his church but an acceptable thing.. try mocking the jw religion to a believer and the result is so very different.. just why is it that jehovah's witnesses can never take even the faintest hint of criticism of their religion?.

The physical effects of Cognitive Dissonance
by stuckinarut2 inmost of us here have gone through, or are going through the various stages "cognitive dissonance".. this is a term used to describe a situation where our minds, and hearts just know that something is "not quite right", and therefore we find ourselves in a muddle trying to reconcile the things we know with the things we are hearing or being told.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/cognitive_dissonance.
so just wondering, how many of you found yourselves (or still find yourselves) becoming phyiscally ill in some way during the time of fading?.
i know that when i look back, for several years even before i was awake to the many issues and facts about the society, i would feel ill at assemblies or conventions.

When I woke up I went through a lot of depression and anxiety. I was the PO at the time and I was worried about how to fad from the Borg. It took several years to totally leave and a lot of research and reading this forum. After many years now out of the Borg I still have nightmares from time to time. But I am able to reason my fears away. I was told on this forum many years ago the time I spent in the cult will always be part of me and I will have to deal with it when it comes up. This is who I am and will be until I die. That is OK with me. For it has made me stronger and wiser. I can smell a cult a mile away now. LOL. I am happier now and more in control of my life. Trust me it will always a battle but is will worth it. I hope this will help. Still Totally ADDl

Just wanted everyone who knows me to know I am alive and well. We just sold our house in PA and are about to buy a house on one acre just outside Jamestown NY. Our health has been good and we both have good part time jobs. As of Aug this year we are now getting SS. Life is good. Our gardening teaching is becoming more popular in this area and we have bought a 20 ft. X 30 ft. Green house. Mrs. ADD has also published a small book called "Ten Weeds You Should Love". I am very proud of her. She worked very hard on this. Over five years out now and we are feeling more and more free from the cult. We are both thinking about starting a support group in this area for those who have escaped a high control group. We have several friends who are retired from the mental health field and would be willing to help. We will see how that goes. There are many other things taking place in our lives but not enough time to talk about it. I just want to thank all those on this forum who have helped us through the years. I see many new ones coming on to this forum in the last year hoping for support and they are getting it. That is what is so great about this site. THANK You Simon. You all take care and happy gardening. Still Totally ADD
